News & Articles And in 2024 the Historic Acropolis Rally in the European Championship!

Following the successful 2023 event, the Acropolis Historic Rally will be part of the European Historic Car Rally Championship next year. The Greek round of the event will once again bring down the curtain on the championship and will be held from 8 to 10 November 2024.

The Historic Acropolis Rally returned to the European Championship calendar this year, after six years of absence, bringing together 9 crews from abroad, despite the fact that the majority of the titles had been decided by previous races of the event. The three-day adventure began under the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis and after 14 Special Routes, the crews finished in the 2023 European Capital of Culture, Elefsina.

The Organizing Committee has already started preparing for next year’s race, which will have some differences compared to this year’s version. At the same time, the World Federation has announced that the Historic Acropolis Rally will give a 10-point starting bonus to the participants of the European Championship, which is expected to attract more crews from outside the borders.

The European Historic Car Rally Championship will again start in 2024 in Spain, with the Costa Brava Rally taking place from 14 to 16 March. This will be followed in the Czech Republic on 19-20 April with the Vltava Historic Rally and will be followed by the Asturias Rally de Historico again on Spanish soil on 17 and 18 May and the Mecsek Rally Hungary in mid-June. The Austrian Historic Weiz Rally (11-13 July) will be the fifth round of the Championship, with the Lahti Historic Rally, the only dirt event in the event other than the Historic Acropolis Rally, scheduled for 23 and 24 August. The Elba Rally Storico returns to the calendar and will be held in neighbouring Italy on 28 and 29 September, with the Sanremo Rally Storico (19-20 October) being the eighth round of the event. The European Historic Car Rally Championship will also be held in 2024 in Greece with the Acropolis Historic Rally from 8 to 10 November.
