After last year’s event, which received positive comments from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the Historic Acropolis Rally, has kept its place on the calendar of the FIA European Historic Rally Championship (EHRC), this year with 10 bonus points! The event will be the 9th round of EHRC and will take place over three days, from November 8th to November 10th. It is also part of the Greek Historic Rally Championship with coefficient 3. In addition to the Sporting and Regularity rallies, there will also be a Legends event, which will attract cars from the period 1991 to 2000.
The Organizing Committee is trying to prepare a rally worth of its history. The Ceremonial Start of the event will take place under the Acropolis on Friday, November 8th, with the photos from the ceremony being the best advertisement for Greece, worldwide. The event is consisted of 12 Special Stages, while competitors will face 165 kilometres in the rough greek gravel stages, with approximately 500 kilometres of liaison stages. The finish of the event will take place in the Port of Itea on Sunday November 10th. Awards Ceremony will take place in Delphi, a city that was a spiritual meeting point in ancient times. It should be noted that the center of the Historic Acropolis Rally will be the Olympic Stadium (OAKA) till the start of the event and then the Headquarters of the Historic Rally Acropolis will move to Itea, at the Trokadero Hotel.
Valuable assistance to the organizers is provided by the Decentralized Administration of Attica, the Prefecture of Voiotia and the Prefecture of Fokida. Historical Acropolis Rally, is supported by the Municipality of Athens, the Municipality of Thebes, the Municipality of Levadeia, the Municipality of Delphi, the Municipality of Orchomenos and the Municipality of Aliartos.
Crews competing in Regularity event, will start the Historic Acropolis Rally adventure from the Acropolis and will head to Ancient Korinthos, Ancient Olympia, Nafpaktos, Delphi etc. Finish of the event will be held in Itea.
